Programs
3 programs
Food Security and Livelihood: UMRs 2024 food assistance reached millions of meals distributed across Gaza, Sudan, Yemen, Jordan, and Kenya. In Gaza, 7,000 hot meals and 1,500 wheat sacks were delivered during the war crisis. In Sudan, UMR distributed 1.7 million fortified meals to pregnant women, lactating mothers, orphans, and IDPs. The organizations Adopt a Village smart agriculture program in Kenya expanded into Phase 3, training over 300 youth in hydroponics. Seasonal food distributions during Ramadan and Qurbani supported over tens of thousands of families.
Advocacy, Education, and Capacity Building: UMR enhanced its global advocacy and training footprint in 2024. The organization hosted a regional conference on Autism and Disability Inclusion in Jordan and launched programs supporting children with autism in refugee camps. In Yemen, UMR has trained health staff on IMCI and community volunteers on CMAM. In the USA UMR university chapters and community members received PMP trainings.
WASH and Emergency Response: UMR responded to multiple emergencies in 2024, including the ongoing conflicts in Gaza, and the cholera outbreaks in Yemen, as well as the floods in Kenya, and displacement crises in Lebanon. In WASH, UMR constructed wells in Pakistan, Somalia, and Kenya, and expanded drought relief efforts in East Africa. Each well served approximately 1,000-2,000 people with sustainable water access, contributing to improved health and community resilience.
