- Funding was used as a resource to support to MATCH partners and other Region 3 partners through Green and Healthy Homes Initiative and the National Grantmakers each of which provided grant funds to community based organizations furthering the mission of climate and environmental justice. Additionally BEA funds were used to support UPAL in house development and training activities.
Funds were used to continue to close the economic gap by building equity nd alignment in the Petersburg Community through the maintenance of a solor powered resiliency hub. The HUb limits the impacts of power outages and provides temporary shelter during climate crises. Funds made it possible for UPAL to ensure energy resiliency used to power administrative offices, onsite restaurant, classrooms and all common areas while also providing community members access to gather and utilize services, enjoy food and beverage while charging their electronic devices. We served 1000 plus individuals in 2024
