Mission
United states - japan innovation institute, inc. ("us-jii") is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code (the "code"), including, but not limited to, the advancement of educational programs and scientific research that promote innovation and foster and facilitate collaboration between american and japanese universities and their academic researchers and technologists; and the making of distributions under section 501(c)(3) of the code.
Programs

Us-jii will coordinate educational partnerships between cit and universities in the united states. Us-jii has begun coordinating a partnership between arizona state university ("asu") and cit. In this partnership, us-jii is assisting the two universities in creating joint degree master's programs that will enable japanese students to receive an undergraduate degree from cit and a complete a master's degree program at asu. Us-jii also intends to help develope and facilitate other learning opportunities between asu and cit.
The corporation will operate a research fellowship program that will provide financial and other support to researchers with academic interests that are relevant to cit. These research fellows will collaborate with cit by, for example, contributing technological or scientific research to cit's programs, travelling to cit to present on research accomplishments and collaborate with peers, and bringing new research and technology back to u.s.-based educationalinstitutions.
Us-jii intends that one of its activities will entail organizing and hosting events that are related to the core areas of graduate study at cit, such as cooperative intelligence, neurodiversity and learning, society and policy, philosophy and awareness, and digital architecture.us-jii will collaborate with cit and other academic institutions in the u.s. And in japan to organize events and programs on shared interests in educational and scientific areas.
