Mission
To protect and advance america's heritage of hunting, fishing and trapping by uniting sportsmen to protect against legislative attacks from the animal rights movement in congress, all 50 states legislatures and at the ballot box. To gain support for wildlife conservation and outdoor sports by organizing and educating america's youth, their families and the elected officials that represent them.
Programs
3 programs
Legislative services - ussa monitors, analyzes and manages legislative and regulatory campaigns to protect and advance america's rich hunting, fishing, and trapping heritage. Ussa specializes in grassroots coalition building legislative campaign management in all 50 states legislatures and in washington d.c. Ussa advocates for reducing arbitrary barriers that prevent the next generation of hunters from entering the field as well as access to public land for outdoor sports. Ussa also manages ballot issue campaigns in conjunction with other sportsmen organizations on behalf of america's hunting, fishing and trapping community.
Research and information - identify and research groups and individuals who advocate positions that will adversely affect wildlife conservation and restrict sportsmen's ability to hunt, fish and trap. Develop programs that oppose the anti-hunting lobby and identify opportunities that enhance hunting, fishing, and trapping activities while supporting scientific wildlife conservation practices. Prepare and distribute information and educational materials relating to scientific wildlife conservation and the sportsmen's effective funding method that has resulted in the most abundant and thriving wildlife populations in more than 100 years. We achieve this by utilizing electronic and social media, creation of brochures, audio visual presentations and educational materials used in speeches, displays, and direct mail to american sportsmen and conservation clubs. In house and hired vendors provide the research, information and creativity necessary to successfully craft and distribute our message to the american people.
Legislative research and monitoring - identification, non-legal analyses and monitoring of legislation, regulations, international treaties and initiatives and referenda.
