The purpose of the plan is to consolidate in one plan document certain provisions of welfare benefits sponsored by the university of new mexico (unm), to provide uniform administration of such welfare benefits and, in conjunction with the university of new mexico retiree welfare benefits trust, to pay a portion of the premiums for retirees' coverage under the component benefits.
