The urban league of greater hartford promotes the self-empowerment of individuals and families in the connecticut capital region in order to achieve educational, occupational, and economic equality for themselves and their families.

Education and youth development: to provide youth and adults with activities to prepare them for post secondary education and career opportunities, and with workforce development skills to prepare them for today's changing economy.
Housing/economic enrichment: to provide a mechanism for individuals and families to acquire and protect assets, by providing the steps necessary to become skilled at managing their money and planning for long-term economic success, this allows for the acquisition and retention of home ownership.
