Mission

Urban recipe promotes food security and dignity through intentionally designed community-driven food cooperatives prioritizing equitable food access, relationship building and participation in decision making.

Programs

1 program

Urban recipe has strategically adopted the mobile pantry program which was initially launched as a temporary response to the covid-19 pandemic. Through strategic partnerships with local organizations, urban recipe provides partners with perishable and non-perishable food boxes, packed by approximately 1,600 volunteers, which are then distributed within each partners respective community. Distributions are based on a system and schedule designed by the partners to best meet the communities needs. Approximately 5,400 households (approximately 21,000 individuals) received one or more boxes of food in 2024.
