Mission

Valor Healing Farms has been created to serve the military community including veterans, active duty, caregivers, families and first responders.Through farming internships, therapeutic horticulture, sustainable gardening, animal-assisted therapy and Nature, VHF programs are designed to benefit participants in meaningful and lasting ways. Our mission is to promote mind/body well-being, mental and emotional balance, self-care skills, life skills, career opportunities, stress reduction, recovery from PTSD, and suicide prevention. We use several local farms in Ojai/Ventura County. Our long-term goal is to find a piece of land in the same area to be our permanent home. This space will be dedicated to providing participants with first-hand learning experiences that will show them: 1) how healing and growth can be found through connections to nature, gardening, animals, and healthy, nurturing experiences with other people; and, 2) how they can bring those therapeutic activities into their own
