The Vang Council of La Crosse strives to serve as an active community leader in promoting cultural understanding practices education and to foster a sense of community.

Promoting education is at the heart of our mission. In 2024 we invested over $40,000 in free programs-including Hmong language and culture classes scholarships and a school supply project-empowering our community through learning and academic support. These programs were offered at no cost to participants and no revenue was generated.
0The Vang Council of La Crosse supported 68 low-income families in 2024 through our Utility Assistance Program allocating over $25,000. Each qualified family received a one-time $400 payment sent directly to their energy vendor-Xcel Energy or Riverland Cooperative-to help cover utility costs. This free program provided critical relief during challenging times and generated no revenue.
