To work in partnership with our community to increase our island's food security and connect people to the supporting resources they need to thrive.

With funding from king county's department of community and human services, in 2024 the vashon food bank continued a pilot community connections program to help connect people to supporting social and human services.

Expenses: $67K

Summer meals program - the vashon food bank has operated a youth summer meals program, called picnics in the park, since 2014. Nutritious meals are offered to island youth in two local parks along with engaging activities. In 2024, we served 8275 meals to 861 unique island youth.
