Mission

To provide the highest quality and most effective representation for our members, and to ensure that their interests are protected in labor and legal matters, economic issues, insurance, and officer safety.

Legal defense fund:VCPPOA members are provided representation in civil, criminal, and administrative disciplinary actions through PORAC legal defense fund. The legal defense fund pays for all related costs of the cases they handle.

Legal services: VCPPOA has contracted with the same firm since early 2001 to handle all aspects of contract and labor negotiations. Contract negoatiations took place in 2021, leading to an increase in expenses for legal fees.

Interest expense: interest paid on line of credit

Membership in Police Officers Research Association of California (PORAC): PORAC membership provides VCPPOA with an abundance of benefits, from networking with other law enforcement agencies, to leadership training, to having a group to represent and protect the rights and benefits of peace officers, just to name a few.

Travel: Officers and board members travel to various conferences and training seminars to keep up to date on various subjects.

Expenses: $27K

Member events: Include newsletters and general membership meetings as an aid to express concerns, opinions, and information. Meetings also provide opportunities for recognition of members achievements and communication of important details for the labor unit.

Occupancy: Building operating expenses, including property taxes and utilities.

Office expenses & supplies: Accounting, advertising, PO box rent, storage facility rent, filing fees, and postage are supplies and services needed to carry out program services.

Charitable Contributions: VCPPOA makes contributions to community 501(c)(3) organizations and to fallen officers when needed.

Political Action Funding

Website: The Association maintains a website to keep members and the public informed of its mission and important information.
