To provide individualized services and resources to victims of sexual assault, violent crime, and traumatic circumstances, through crisis response,advocacy,therapy,and awareness.

The vsc is the only agency certified by the florida council against sexual violence (fcasv) as a rape crisis center in both orange and osceola counties. Vsc operates two stand-alone confidential forensic exam sites. Services offered include: forensic evidence collection for the investigation/prosecution of criminal cases by specially trained sexual assault nurse examiners (sanes); medical intervention; and referrals for prophylactic medications. These services are provided up to 120 hours post-victimization, for sexual assault victims ages 12 and up, 24-hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year.

Expenses: $561K

The vsc prioritizes comprehensive outreach, education, and community awareness to not only reach potential clients, but to also prevent violence in our community. Vsc participates in safety fairs, provides public presentations and trainings, and reaches citizens through media outlets. There is a concentration on underserved populations in the community, such as the homeless, males, spanish speaking residents, military, college-aged students and the lgbtq communities.
