In School The Village In School program provides educational support for young men where they are...in the classroom during the school day. Being a successful student requires skills that are often not developed in students living in economically disadvantaged environments. Through a partnership with Confluence Academies, Village mentors support student success through tutoring, modeling appropriate behavior, life skills training, setting high expectations and engaging students in activities and conversations that promote mental and emotional health.
Family Engagement In 2022, Village leaders formalized support for parents and other caregivers of the young men in the program. Family engagement specialists organize meetings with caregivers to discuss topics important to them. Topics include financial stability, adult education opportunities, substance abuse prevention, violence prevention, and self-care. Family engagement specialists also help caregivers navigate the school system, and connect them with needed resources in the area. Family Engagements Family Night brings the entire Village together quarterly to enjoy and support each other.
