Vipi provided emergency financial assistance to 14 low income individuals through funding from the community foundation. Urgent needs during this period were major appliances, household items, airfare, emegency utility bill payments, lab work and other various urgent needs. Eligibility for this assistance is restricted to one time only needs, income level and urgency.
The organization again partnered with the frederiksted health center to disperse hiv self-testing kits to local residents. Clients who submitted their results to an anonymous portal were rewarded with an additional incentive. The overall goal to end the hiv epidemic can only be achieved through a collaborative effort of health providers, private and public entities, as well as individual and community efforts.
