Programs

3 programs

Vba's 19 law sections connect practitioners in specific areas of the law. Sections facilitate the sharing of information in their practice areas to aid lawyers in the day-to-day representation of clients. The large and active young lawyers division connects 1,400 practitioners beginning their law careers by offering social, educational and charitable events and programs.

The virginia bar association is devoted to improving virginia law. They actively propose and support before the virginia general assembly statutory changes that are in the public interest. Each year, members analyze statutes and propose law changes to the board of governors for possible inclusion in the vbas legislative agenda. Every vba section member receives a summary of legislation pertaining to that section after the close of the regular general assembly session. Section members say these summaries can be helpful in flagging legislative actions of importance to them and to their clients.

The vba also offers a robust legal career center and dozens of networking opportunities for their members. In addition, they publish a magazine, the vba journal, which contains substantive articles of general interest to various law practice areas as well as news and events.
