Mission

Vision for Chicago is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing equitable access to comprehensive eye care for young adults in underserved neighborhoods. Through localized programs we provide free vision screenings and prescription eyeglasses removing vision-related barriers that hinder learning employment and quality of life. Our mission is to ensure that every young adult has the clear vision necessary to thrive academically socially and professionally regardless of income insurance status or background. As the only community-based organization in Chicago providing on-site vision services tailored specifically for justice-involved adults and young adults Vision for Chicago plays a vital and unique role in the citys reentry and public health ecosystem.
