Vorsmc creates peer-led opportunities for education wellness advocacy and support services for individuals in or in need of long term recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions equally sharing these opportunities and support services with impacted families.

Pwi_peer workforce investment grant received from department of human services to provide peer run service programs to support the overall expansion of the states behavioral and health peer run workforce through their pivotal role of facilitating access to care and supporting retention service.

Samhsa is a federal grant from substance abuse and mental health services administration to expand services in san mateo county to increase the prevalence and quality of long term recovery services by using an evidenced based practice program wellness recovery action plan through peer to peer recovery facilitiation.

Voices of Recovery San Mateo County VORSMC acknowledges and embraces the diverse strengths and challenges encountered on the path to recovery. VORSMC offers peer-led opportunities for education wellness advocacy and support services to individuals in or seeking long-term recovery from alcohol and drug addictions extending these services to affected families. Clients from the Latino Commission transitioning from drug court engage in workshops and training within this program to strengthen their recovery foundation within the community. They also take part in quarterly social events sponsored by Voices of Recovery San Mateo County. "Recovery Happens Month" is an annual observance in September in San Mateo County promoting awareness about how substance use and mental health services can empower individuals and families to lead healthy fulfilling lives. This observance features numerous events throughout September for hundreds of individuals in recovery from mental health and substance use challenges emphasizing the crucial role of behavioral health in overall well-being the effectiveness of prevention and treatment and the reality of successful recovery. SMC Peer Recovery Wrap offers personalized support to prevent relapse and foster sustained recovery from substance use disorders through one-on-one mentoring sessions for individuals in early recovery. Facilitated support groups utilize evidence-based practices to address key recovery issues and develop self-improvement plans using the Wellness Recovery Action Plan WRAP.
