We have established a vibrant forum to support and encourage local Amish craftsmen in the production and sale of their goods, including handcrafted furniture, rugs, quilts, and other home furnishings, as well as organic home-baked and canned goods. Our initiative provides essential small business startup services and facilities, along with expert advice from experienced local retailers to guide new entrepreneurs. Furthermore, we are committed to creating employment opportunities for older and disabled workers, fostering an inclusive and supportive community.
We have developed and maintained a two-acre community park, featuring a spacious parking lot that serves both the downtown shopping district and the local Volunteer Fire Department for their occasional events. The park boasts a childrens playground and a trout fishing stream, which is a favorite spot for local fly fishermen. Additionally, the park includes a large lawn that residents frequently use as an off-leash exercise area for pets, and a sloping hillside that is perfect for sled riding during the winter months. This park provides a valuable recreational space for the community, promoting outdoor activities and community engagement.
