Volunteer Ministry Center Inc

The refuge provides homeless prevention services to households at risk of losing their housing. Individuals experiencing homelessness are provided with essential services and referrals. The refuge is staffed primarily by trained volunteers under the direction of a social worker. 1,124 individuals were provided assistance in 2024 with 125 households provided with direct financial assistance.

The volunteer ministry dental clinic offers comprehensive dental services to individuals experiencing homelessness and other low-income, uninsured residents of knox county. The clinic is staffed by a part-time dental assistant, a contract dentist, contract dental assistants, and volunteer dental professionals. The clinic is open 1-2 days per week depending on volunteer availability. In 2024, 551 individuals were served.

Other programs include the organization's street outreach, foyer, and low-income housing programs, all of which are designed to provide housing and other necessities to disenfranchised individuals.
