Deputy Toy Shop - Deputies deliver bags of toys throughout the county to families that were nominated for the program.
Family Resource Center - The Volusia Family Resource Center (VFRC) is a full-scale assessment center that offers high quality services to juveniles and their families. Utilizing evidence-based strategies to improve community and law enforcement relations, the VSO has implemented the VFRC for prevention, intervention, and diversion of potentially troubled juveniles. The VFRC model provides critical prevention, intervention, assessment, and services to juveniles, and their families, who may be engaging in behavior that could result in the involvement of the criminal justice system. The VFRC will partner with the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Halifax Health Behavioral Services (HBS), the Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS) and Hope Florida to reduce recidivism, and minimize duplicated efforts, while increasing the accountability of providers serving the community. Furthermore, the Volusia Family Resource Center will be a resource for facilitating better relationships between juveniles, their families, and the law enforcement community in Volusia County. Objectives to address include: Reducing juvenile crime, Truancy, Ungovernable youth, Runaways, Missing persons, Aggressive, defiant and/or violent behaviors, Mental health, Those at risk of entering the juvenile justice system, Parents in need of services.
