Wait until 8th exists to promote the public interest by 1) connecting, supporting and empowering parents who choose to delay giving their children a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade 2) educating parents, schools, healthcare providers, and the public about facts, research and information regarding the effects of smartphone usage on children and how to responsibly allow smartphone usage after 8th grade and beyond3) advocating for policies in elementary and middle schools that limit the use of personal smartphones and internet-connected devices
