First year families is a program of wa-chip that works to advance early childhood. The program focuses on attachment/early relational health, maternal health and developmental screening & early intervention.

Relational health learning collaborative: wcaap supports primary care clinics and their multidisciplinary teams to support relational health for patients and families.

Wcaap assesses membership dues which offer its members a variety of benefits, in addition to those programs previously described. Wcaap's member services include ensuring pediatricians' experience and voices inform the state medicaid agency and department of health. Wcaap maintains close relationships with state agencies and provides a liaising function for pediatric health providers with state agencies overseeing medicaid and public health. Wcaap member services also include providing education for our members and community. Annually we train our members in how to be effective advocates and how to share their stories to educate policy makers in child health needs and gaps. In 2024 we provided advocacy training multiple times to practicing pediatricians and pediatric residents. In addition, our 2024 educational focus and associated member benefit was in health equity, providing quarterly webinars reaching 271 providers, and facilitating a hands-on learning collaborative, helping 30 pediatric providers make a measurable impact on delivering equitable care for patients. Champions for youth brings together primary care, state agencies, public health, health plans and schools to advance the health and wellbeing of school-aged children and adolescents. Champions for youth works to improve access to preventive care, immunizations, mental health and coordination of health care.
