The goal of the washington park transportation management association (wptma) is to implement a diverse and innovative package of access management tools that maximize safe and convenient access to and from the park, its institutions and adjacent neighborhoods.

Marketing and communication:explore washington park continued to implement the washington park marketing plan with efforts to promote transit options to get to and around the park.efforts that moved forward in fy24 included: . Advertising - ewp's advertisements for the free shuttle loop and transit were seen over 8.7 million times. This includes ads on trimet buses, posters hanging in the washington park station, streaming-television commercials, social media, print magazines and the morning news. . Website - website use was up 8% over the previous fiscal year . Social media - ewp's social media reach was up over 500% from the previous fiscal year . Newsletter - ewp manages an internal newsletter for park partners that provides information on park construction, events, and shuttle services. The open rate increased by 9% from the previous fiscal year. . Park map - ewp updated the park map so that it is to-scale and added information in the map brochure about budget friendly park options. - ewp printed and distributed over 60,000 park maps in english and 9,500 in spanish. - park maps are distributed through visitor service booths, portland airport, partner venues, and hotels and hostels.visitor services:during the peak season (april-september), explore washington park provided visitor services staff daily at two to four variable stations--to answer queries, increase visitor interactions, and receive park feedback. Teams also surveyed park goers related to their experience.staff were generally stationed at the international rose test garden, near the portland japanese garden, as well as the trimet max station located across from the zoo. Staff had over 43,500 interactions with visitors.seasonal staff were also hired to assist in nov-dec offsite and traffic control operations as needed to assist in zoolights operations and to provide an increased visitor experience presence during the transportation portion of zoo lights participation.ewp staffed a year-round information phone line 7 days/week from 10am to 4pm.

Park planning and one park programming:explore washington park worked with the board to develop a transportation access plan and a funding plan to support the transportation projects.ewp continued to implement several of the plans that were adopted through the washington park strategic operations plan. These include the parkwide diversity, equity and inclusion plan, and the parkwide marketing plan.ewp staff hosted multiple parkwide events for washington park staff and volunteers to promote the holistic vision and approach to the park. In addition, ewp's front-line staff cross-trained with staff from various venues and partners, including travel portland.
