Disaster Response Following Hurricane Helene, Equal Plates Project mobilized to triple meal production within one week, engaging 500 volunteers to prepare and deliver 4,000 meals each week from October through December to community members experiencing displacement, water outages, and loss of income.
Local Farm Support Equal Plates Project prioritized sourcing from small, local farms in Western North Carolina, investing $90,000 across 20 farms in 2024. All purchases were made at fair market value, strengthening the regional food system while supplying nourishing ingredients for our meals.
