This season, titled music reimagined, the wenatchee valley symphony orchestra(wvso)captivated the community with a bold lineup of concerts. The season opened with ivan and alyosha, blending indie-pop with symphonic sound, followed by hooray for hollywood, a celebration of iconic movie scores. Con anime featured beloved cartoon scores and an original composition that accompanied an animated sprite character exploring the orchestra, delighting audiences of all ages. The season closed with anthem, a powerful reflection on unity and resilience. Performed live at the numerica performing arts center and streamed for broader access, music reimagined highlighted wvso's commitment to keeping live music thriving in the wenatchee valley.

The youth orchestra program provides young musicians the chance to audition and join either the junior or youth orchestra, with three 10-week sessions of weekly coaching that culminate in final performances. A highlight of the program is the annual side-by-side concert, where the youth orchestra performs alongside the wenatchee valley symphony orchestra(wvso), giving students the unique opportunity to collaborate with seasoned musicians. The program also offers need-based scholarships to ensure that all students, regardless of financial background, can participate, fostering musical development and a deep sense of community.

The young musicians competition is an annual soloist competition that showcases the exceptional talents of local youth. Open to aspiring musicians, the competition offers monetary scholarships to the top three winners, with the first-place winner earning the special honor of performing their solo live with the wenatchee valley symphony orchestra at the season's final concert. This year, the spotlight shone on a gifted young cellist, whose moving performance of a movement from elgar's cello concerto captivated both the audience and the orchestra.
