West Allis Training Kennel Club

Use by club members of the club's grounds described in item 1 for the training of the members' dogs. Approximate percentage of time: 40%. This activity improves the capabilities of the dogs and the training and handling skills of the members and promotes fellowship among club members.

Sponsorship and conducting retriever and spaniel multi-day field trials and hunt tests on the club's grounds, open to members and other american kennel club registered dog owners as guests of the club. The west allis training and kennel club is a member of the american kennel club ("a.k.c.") and these trials and tests are conducted pursuant to the rules of, and under the sanction of, the akc. Field trial championship points and hunt test qualifications can be earned at these events, leading to specific field trial and hunt test titles awarded by the akc. In addition, any net revenue from conducting these events helps west allis training kennel club meet its expenses relating to its extensive club grounds and its other operating and equipment expenses. Approximate percentage of time: 25%. This activity futhers the club's purpose by providing the club members, and others with similar interests, the opportunity to test their dogs and to achieve recognition of the dogs skills through field trial and hunt test titles at various levels.

The watkc also conducts an annual "hunters jamboree". This is a social gathering consisting of members of the club or their families, or guests who are invited to explore the club's facilities, participate in events with their own dogs, family members, or guests, and win prizes. The primary purpose of the jamboree is to make known the existence of the watkc, promote interest in the new members. All of essentially all of the work involved in this event is carried out on a voluntary basis by members of the club and their families.
