Mission
The quality of health among florida's rural residents continues to be of increasing concern. West florida ahec not only strives to improve the health of those in our metropolitan areas and the health of those in our countries' rural areas, they are also concerned with the medically underserved areas and health professional shortage areas. Therefore west florida ahec, alongside its strong partnerships with community and government organizations is on a mission to promote health and wellness in its 4-county service area.

The healthy aging program works with adults 60 and older to improve health and well-being.
Area health education centers - point of maintenance and enhancement awards works to improve the distribution, diversity, and supply of the healthcare workforce by developing and enhancing academic-community partnerships. Supported functions include healthcare recruitment, training for professionals, and continuing education.
