The performing arts school is a leading educational center that offers private lessons and group classes for children, teens, and adults of all skill levels. Students perform multiple times each year and there are programs for extended learning through classes and ensembles. Pas also holds master classes and workshops throughout the year to keep students engaged and challenged. What sets pas apart is its breadth of classes and the variety of performance opportunities offered. From aspiring young actors starting with the basics, to seasoned musicians looking to hone performance skills, there is a class for everyone. Pas programming includes instrumental and vocal instruction, and group classes for children, teens, and adults. Group course topics for children and teens include fundamentals of musical theater performance, theater and acting, vocal technique, and more. Group course topics for adults include song and video production, acting, ensemble playing, and more. In both private and group lessons, pas instructors provide individualized instruction. We keep our class sizes small and our faculty makes sure that technique and repertoire are age and developmentally appropriate.

Paterson music project (pmp) uses music as a vehicle for social change empowering children through the communal experience of ensemble learning and performance. A member of the el sistema new jersey alliance, pmp enables 250+ students in grades 1-8 from title one schools to engage deeply with music for up to eight hours per week. Students study a primary instrument, plus music theory, music history, aural training, and singing. They perform frequently for the paterson community and beyond. This intensive schedule allows students to make rapid progress on their instruments and provides a positive and safe environment during out-of school hours. Providing students with a safe, engaging place to be during out-of-school hours is essential to their success in school and life. Pmp transforms the lives of students, generating pride, solidarity, and beautiful music.

The new jersey youth chorus provides music education that encourages a love and appreciation of choral music while nurturing personal growth and creative development. Njyc is home to 3rd to 12th-grade singers from communities across the state of new jersey. Choristers achieve musical excellence while building friendships, fostering self-expression, and experiencing once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunities. Our philosophy and goals revolve around our choristers and the music. It is far more than singing: we teach values, we nurture, and we inspire.njyc has five performance ensembles for girls and boys. With past performances at the white house, carnegie hall, super bowl and the kennedy center, and with past tours including disney, new orleans, hawaii, hungary, england, and italy, each season at njyc is a new experience!
