Whitney M. Young, Jr. Health Center provides access to affordable, consistent quality medical, dental and addictions services to all people who need it, regardless of income or insurance status.

Dental Services: WYH provided 11,349 patient visits in 2024 including both preventative and restorative services to underserved populations and is the area's largest dental provider for Medicaid patients. In addition to the dental departments in Albany and Troy, WYH also provides mobile dental hygienist services through a program called Seal-A-Smile. Seal-A-Smile is an oral health program providing preventative services to elementary school aged children primarily in over 70 schools and Head Start programs across New York's Capital District area and beyond.

Behavioral Health (Substance Use Disorder & Mental Health Services): WYH provided 9,269 patient visits in 2024 to clients with substance use disorders. Our Family Alcoholism and Chemical Treatment Services (FACTS) and Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program (MMTP) are part of an integrated behavioral health approach that incorporates support groups, counseling, referrals, and medication management options to stabilize and improve the lives of our clients. Both programs are licensed by New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), and accredited by The Joint Commission.
