Mission

Inspire change and empower the world to protect wildlife and vital habitats from critical threats.

Programs

2 programs

Wildaid's wildlife program continued to address threats to elephants, rhinos, pangolins, sharks, lions, sea turtles, and tigers with a comprehensive approach to reducing demand in china and asia while strengthening protection in multiple african countries, including cameroon, gabon, tanzania, and uganda. We inspired change by leveraging our strong communications campaign expertise and building public and political will in china, southeast asia, and africa to strengthen conservation actions. This was most exemplified in 2024 by protecting pangolins in china, where we secured over 1 million pledges not to consume pangolin products and had fruitful conversations with government officials to improve the accountability and transparency of the ongoing and undisclosed use of pangolin scales in traditional chinese medicine. Our campaign to reduce the consumption of bushmeat, especially pangolin, in cameroon's cities and towns achieved a 30% decrease which we will continue to expand upon.

Expenses: $3.7MGrants: $476K

We believe shifting individual behavior in china & the u.s. - the two biggest co2 emitters - is a crucial global climate solution that no other nonprofit is doing. Wildaid's climate program continues to promote low-carbon lifestyles in both the us and china, inspiring millions to make individual lifestyle choices that collectively can significantly reduce emissions. In china, our "every climate action counts: the power is yours!" campaign empowers consumers to adopt sustainable behaviors and welcomed 6.2 million visitors to our "climate action inspiration station" (a website embedded in weibo and wechat) to share their own climate actions.
