Through collaboration with Planet Indonesia and Dayak communities WildMon integrated acoustic sensors and camera traps across 100 forest sites to monitor more than 60 wildlife species including 16 IUCN Red Listed taxa. The project combines AI-driven biodiversity analyses with community-led data interpretation empowering local decision-making informing ecosystem management and establishing evidence for creating community-protected no-take zones.
Led by the University of Antwerp RESTOREID unites global institutions to study how ecosystem restoration influences biodiversity ecological health and disease dynamics. Within this consortium WildMon leads biodiversity monitoring in Belgium and Uganda deploying standardized acoustic protocols across 30 sites per region and advising on survey designs across the wider 210-site network. Using its AI-powered ecoacoustic pipeline WildMon analyzes soundscapes to track species richness and ecological integrity while building local research capacity and contributing critical data linking biodiversity recovery to disease resilience.
