After only 3.5 months with full-time staff, the trust signed a purchase contract for 270 acres of very high quality willamette wet-prairie habitat. This was a big step for the new land trust. The habitat provides an amazing array of wildflowers in the spring and summer months, and it home to a wide range of wildlife species, from migratory songbirds, to reoosevelt elk. The trust then worked to raise the funds by the end of 2024, and did so successully in raising $315,000 to purchase the property. This first property acquisition was finalized in january of 2025. It is known as the oak meadows natural area.
