William E. Morris Institute for Justice (The Institute or MIJ) was established and incorporated under the laws of the State of Arizona on February 26, 1996, to provide a broad spectrum of administrative and legal advocacy services for low-income and other vulnerable individuals. MIJs work includes federal and state administrative advocacy; legal and policy analysis, research, and advocacy; litigation; public legal education; civil legal aid and poverty law training and technical assistance; substantive task force coordination; and legislative advocacy.MIJ primarily focuses on systemic legal issues in the areas of housing, consumer protection, food security, health care, unemployment compensation, and other public benefits and assistance programs.
