Mission

The mission of wings program, inc is to provide housing, integrated services, education, and advocacy to end domestic violence.

Programs

3 programs

Transitional housing and permanent housing provided 82,324 nights of shelter. This program accomodates 2-3 families in single family homes at no cost for up to 6 months. After spending time stabilizing their lives, the families can then move to an apartment for up to 2 years during which time they pay some rent and receive ongoing services to help with budgeting, permanent housing options, parenting skills, relationship building, legal advocacy and community referrals. Once in their own permanent housing, financial and program support may also be provided to help them maintain their independence based on the needs of the family. Wings also offers permanent housing units to families in need of this option due to disabilities as well as 2 affordable housing units for long-term stay. In addition, wings offers rapid re-housing

Expenses: $3.7M

Through serving the client base and raising awareness of domestic violence, wings' four resale stores are an integral part of wings' identity. Resale inventory is aquired via donation and primarily supports wings clients. In fy2024 wings resale provided clients with over $70,000 of donated goods at no cost to them. Inventory in excess of clients' needs is sold, offsetting the costs of aquisition, storage and distribution of items donated to clients. When clients come into shelter, they are provided with an intial wardrobe and accessories from wings resale and are later issued a gift card and transportation to the resale store. Clients in transitional and permanent housing recieve giftcards to aquire furniture and housewares for their apartments which is delivered by wings transportation team. Providing families the ability to shop for themselves in a public facing business supports building self-esteem and self-sufficiency in addition to providing for the unique needs of their families. Additionally, stores act as a liason connecting survivors seeking help to programmatic support and resources.

Expenses: $2.9M

Counseling and mentoring program provided 5,880 hours of counseling by licensed professionals and supervised interns to non-residents of wings at no cost. This service provides individuals in the community with counseling, emotional support and safety planning that can help them prepare to leave an abusive situatuion before it reaches a crisispoint. This program includes survivor life line which is a mentoring program by survivors to families new to the journey of rebuilding, and alas which works to engage the latino population in community building to raise awareness and faciliate access to services. This program also includes a partnership with northwest community hospital and ascension hospitals to provide education, assessment and intervention for the hospital staff to identify victims who can then receive further services.
