AO Discover educates, engages, and empowers children and families by bringing science to life through active, hands-on exploration. Activities planned include a facility that is open to the public with permanent interactive STEM Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics exhibits and hands-on instructional explorations tied to the Alabama State Dept. of Education standards and objectives. Families can connect with AO Discover through self-guided tours, field trips, community days sponsored by businesses and free to the public, STEM Camps i.e. problem-solving, coding and robotics camps for Pre-K and Elementary students, special educational events in the facility for the community i.e. guest speakers, themed events, and holiday events, as well as regular outreach in the community through research participation and community and educational partnerships.
