Wags tournament- the premier girls soccer tournament in the united states. The tournament has been held annually since 1975. This year's tournament was held on october 11th-13th, 2024. 604 teams ages u-9 through u-19 participated and coaches from many colleges/universities attended. Wags also had a legacy division in the wags tournament for women with 17 teams having players aged over 40 years, teams with players aged over 50 years and teams with players aged over 60 years at a reduced entry fee. This legacy division supported over 250 women in the 2024 wags tournament. This support empowered this community of soccer players to continue to pursue their love of the game and be celebrated for their achievements.
Wags sponsored a coaching course to help women obtain their license in coaching. A national c license course was held in january 2024 in new jersey. The program generally covered about a 6 month period and included online and in person participation, with filming of the coaching actvities as part of the national certification process. The participants were reimbursed for the travel and registration fees upon successful completion of the course. Wags paid all costs associated with the course including field, facilities and instructor fees. As a result of this program 22 participants received their national c license certification.
