To promote talent in medicine by providing unique professional opportunities to women physicians.

Programs

5 programs

The CLIMB program provides clinical skills training to women in areas of medicine where they are highly underrepresented. Distinguishing features of the program include small group sessions led by world renown experts across a 6 month period, and focused attention on networking among all attendees and sponsors. The 2024 virtual program enrolled over 100 women into 5 distinct learning tracks. CLIMB is our most multi-national program, with participants representing 37 countries in 2024.

The Corporate Engagement program partners with external organizations interested in supporting gender diversity among their own activities. Through the organizations Talent Directory, Women as One is able to find qualified experts to fill scientific and professional advancement opportunities such as clinical trial leaders, clinical experts and speakers at major cardiovascular conferences. In 2024, Women as One helped dozens of organizations find the right female experts to diversify their scientific activities.

Expenses: $200K

The Escalator Awards program provides institutional funding to support and advance women in cardiology by providing training, research grants, mentoring and networking support. The Mentorship program provided grants to 6 women to create cross-institutional pairings of women who collaborated on a novel project. The Research Scholars program supported 7 women physicians who are taking the first steps toward clinical trial leadership.

EVENTS & CO-SPONSORSHIPS: Women as One regularly co-sponsors networking events, online educational materials and conferences with external organizations which serve to advance the Women as Ones mission of promoting talented women in medicine. These opportunities allow for women to meet, learn and advance. We also partner with relevant professional societies that align with our mission. In 2024 the organization provided speakers support to the Euro PCR and Prevention & Intervention conferences and also created joint sessions focusing on womenss cardiovascular health at meetings held by cardiovascular organizations.

Expenses: $15K

Equity Programs: Women as One focused resources on providing education and driving awareness to issues that negatively impact women in medicine. Resources are found on Women as Ones website, partner webinars in multiple geographies & template distribution. Examples include an educational series on radiation safety along with the development of a mentorship toolkit and published blog posts on topics related to advancing womens careers.
