Mission

Our vision is to share HOPE with the discouraged among us. The mission of WOHRC is to help provide encouragement to families in our community by assisting them explore various ways to enrich their quality of life by offering services like: effective counseling, mentoring and by providing referrals to services we do not offer at our agency. One of the services we provide through our New Life Program is counseling as a state of NJ licensed out-patient drug and alcohol treatment clinic. For this program we can bill insurance companies for the services we provide to the clients. We have another program called Give Hope which helps loved ones learn how to communicate with those suffering from an addiction and direct them towards a sober lifestyle. An additional program is Building Lives Together (BLT). In this program we help clients with job searches, resume writing, developing interviewing skills, housing, local food pantries and other services. Give Hope & BLT we offer as free services.

Our aftercare program called Building Lives Together (BLT) offers a recovery coach / peer specialist who will work with anyone pursuing sobriety to jump start their recovery. The coach assists in developing life skills, while being and helping to build a support network. The person in recovery gets a coach who can relate to their circumstances through their personal experience of the recovery process. The program offers a peer that has been in recovery to walk alongside of a recoveree to assist them in areas of their life that are not addressed when being counseled an outpatient facility. Services the peer helps with include resume writing, job searches, housing, license restoration, staying sober and finding 12 step meetings to attend.

Give Hope Program addresses this question: Have you ever wondered what your next step should be when dealing with someone struggling with addiction? The program demonstrates effective communication skills to anyone who has a loved one struggling with addiction. We can also work with the person in active addiction to teach them communication skills also. This program consists of educational workshops, loved one support, and one on one consultations. We also offer information on available community resources like sober living environments, detox facilities, and other recovery support services. The program helps address these questions and thoughts that some people have: When is the right time to talk to my loved one about their addiction? I feel powerless and don't know what my next steps should be. How do I motivate my loved one to seek treatment? I feel all alone and detached from others. I am frustrated and angry all the time, how can I get these feelings to stop? No one else has gone through this, so no one understands everything that I am going through. I am so unhappy; will I ever be happy again? My life is out of control and there is nothing I can do to fix it. Have I missed any red flags?
