Executive & judicial endorsements: the wbas principal goal in endorsing candidates for judgeships is to ensure the appointment of qualified judges to both local and federal courts in the district of columbia. Consistent with that goal, we also seek to increase the number of women occupying judgeships in the district of columbia and federal courts. We endorse candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to equality of all litigants before the courts and who have been responsive to womens needs and concerns.

Advocacy: the wba seeks to actively support issues of special interest to women, and frequently uses its voice as one of the oldest and largest voluntary bar associations in metropolitan washington, dc to advocate on behalf of them. This includes releasing issue statements, curating the discussing racism & being anti-racist toolkit, signing on to letters of support, amicus brief development and signing on to amicus briefs drafted by other organizations.
