Mission
The exempt purpose of the organization is to promote the education career advancement and professional development of women in the field of transportation. The Organization is a local chapter of Womens Transportation Seminar an international organization with a mission to attract sustain connect and advance womens careers to strengthen the transportation industry. All activities are conducted by volunteers who are members of the organization. The primary activities of the organization are providing professional development industry education events mentoring to students and young professionals and networking opportunities for members within their local business community

The Special Events committee organized and hosted our Annual Gala. This annual event honors women who are leaders in the transportation industry and who have reached the highest levels in their chosen field. In addition scholarships are presented to students who intend to pursue a career in transportation. In 2024 we honored Veronica Vanterpool Acting Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration as Woman of The Year. She was introduced by Meera Joshi NYC Deputy Mayor for Operations. Scholarships were awarded to nine exceptional young women pursuing education in the field of transportation.
The Business Diversity committee partnered with the Small Business Association to host a five-part webinar series designed to provide valuable information and resources on topics such as funding opportunities securing government contracts selling to the global market and much more. Additionally the Business Diversity Committee hosted a WMSDBE Expo which provides an opportunity to WMSDBE businesses to showcase their companies as well as a forum for networking and exploring future teaming opportunities with area transportation firms.
