MATCHING GIFTS

WordPlays original proposal was a $400,000 request: $200,000 to be funded in 2020, and $200,000 in 2021. Of this amount, $30,000 each year will be dedicated to the Director of Programmings salary, and $170,000 to capital expenses for the renovation of our commercial building at 1556 Chase Ave. Due to the rapid changes brought on by the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic, WordPlay has decided to pause renovations on the building and focus on generating operating support to keep our staff intact and redirect programming to multi-faceted online learning. Per Executive Director Libby Hunters conversation with Libby Krone on March 25, 2020, an additional $200,000 in operating support is being requested for 2020, with $200,000 to be awarded to the capital project in 2021 and $200,000 in 2022, for a total of $600,000 over the next three years.
