Afghan scholarships fund - this scholarship was created to support higher education for afghan women, alumnae, and daughters of male or female alums, of the u.s. Dept. Of state's international visitor leadership program (ivlp). The last scholarship disbursement of $725 was paid out on 1/2/24 to nasrin sharifi. Ms. Sharifi was also approved for asylum in 2024. All expenses were inside the u.s.
Afghan ivlp emergency relief fund - through this fund, small emergency relief grants were approved in 2022 for 6 eligible participants in several installments. In 2024, nasir alokozay received $350 and khaled sharifi received $50 (both with pending refugee cases in pakistan); and in 2024 susan sharifi received $296.50 for resettlement support in the united states. Susan's refugee case was approved and she was relocated by the u.s. Government to orlando in december 2023. Expenses of $400 were outside the u.s while $296.50 were inside the u.s.
