Mission
The YMCA of Midland is dedicated to strengthening the foundations of our community by promoting youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. As a nonprofit organization, we provide inclusive programs and services designed to nurture the potential of every individual, encourage personal well-being, and foster meaningful community connections. Our diverse range of programs serves individuals and families of all ages and backgrounds. We offer health and wellness initiatives, youth sports, aquatics programs, childcare services, and community engagement activities that inspire growth and promote social equity. Key programs include our Safety Around Water initiative, which teaches essential drowning prevention skills; structured youth sports leagues that promote teamwork and leadership; and our comprehensive fitness and wellness offerings that support lifelong health. The YMCA of Midland is committed to ensuring access for all, regardless of financial circumstances.

CHILD CARE PROGRAMS - The YMCA's childcare programs are designed to support not only the growth and development of children but also the well-being of their families. These programs instill self-esteem, leadership skills, and strong moral values in youth while providing parents with the peace of mind that their children are in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. We serve children from 6 weeks to 13 years old through infant care, preschool, school-age care, summer day camps, and holiday camps. Additionally, teens have access to sports, fitness programs, and our Youth in Government initiative. For many families, YMCA childcare enables parents to maintain employment, knowing their children are thriving in a secure and enriching setting. To ensure accessibility for all, we offer financial assistance based on need. In the past year, the YMCA provided $162,498 in financial aid for licensed childcare services, ensuring no family is turned away due to financial hardship.
YOUTH & FAMILY PROGRAMS - The YMCA is dedicated to enriching the lives of youth and families through sports, aquatics, and community-driven initiatives. In the past year, $5,299 in financial assistance was provided to ensure children had access to youth sports and swimming lessons, empowering them to build confidence, learn teamwork, and develop essential life skills. Youth sports programs at the YMCA foster confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for healthy living. Our focus is on skill development, inclusivity, and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to actively participate in every game. Beyond the field or court, these programs also strengthen family connections-parents often volunteer as coaches, and siblings come together to cheer and support one another. Through positive experiences in youth sports, children build self-esteem and develop lifelong habits that promote physical and emotional well-being. Our aquatics programs prioritize water safety, ensuring that individuals of all ages gain essential swimming skills while building confidence in the water. In addition to swim instruction, these programs promote overall health through regular aquatic exercise, reinforcing the YMCA's commitment to safety, wellness, and community engagement.
