Programs that strengthen social responsibility:the ymca of honolulu believes in giving back and supporting our neighbors. For more than 157 years, we have listened and responded to our community's most critical social needs. Our adolescent drug treatment and intervention services work to reduce substance abuse, build self-respect, improve school success, strengthen family and peer relationships, and help youth secure employment. Our after-school, out-of-school prevention, and youth mentoring programs provide safe, supervised environments where young people can engage in positive activities as alternatives to violence, gang involvement, and drug use. Continued on schedule othese programs include leadership development, counseling, homework assistance, substance abuse education, camping, sports, recreation, and mental and physical wellness activities. Together, these services deliver training, resources, and support that create change, bridge gaps, and remove barriers. In 2024, we engaged 1,605 adolescents and youth in outreach programs aimed at strengthening our community and paving the way for future generations to thrive.
