Child development-the ywca's child development center staff believe that those with the least, deserve the very best start in life. The ywca program is licensed by the state of alabama and nationally accredited by the national association for the education of the young child (naeyc). In addition to providing the children with a safe place to learn and play, the ywca center also provides snacks and two hot meals a day.

Community housing ywca's community housing is committed to providing excellent housing and supportive programming for women, children and families. Ywca offers a variety of temporary and permanent housing options for individuals and families based on their need and situation. Ywca works to ensure equal and fair access to this housing accommodating multiple needs and striving to uphold the dignity of each person the ywca is serving.permanent housing-ywca offers low-cost income based units for individuals and families. The permanent housing portfolio consists of fifty-four (54) one-bedroom units; forty-eight (48) two bedroom units; and fifteen (15) three-bedroom units. These units are located across seven housing sites.transitional housing (thp)-this program serves homeless women and families who have experienced domestic violence and face barriers to secure permanent housing. These families benefit from a service-enriched setting that offers guidance and support with becoming self-sufficient. Thp has ten (10) designated units offering a program duration of twenty-four (24) months; typically, families stay in the transitional setting for 15-18 mos, and may receive follow-up services at their exit to permanent housing.rosedale senior housing-these eight stand-alone senior homes are located in homewood, alabama and provide housing for low-income seniors and disabled individuals. Each one-bedroom, one-bath unit is wheelchair accessible with all electric appliances.interfaith hospitality house (ihh)-a stand-alone shelter designated for families experiencing homelessness, opened in september 2009. Ihh's houses and underserved target population, which includes single mothers with at least one older male child, single fathers with children, and couples with children.

Economic empowerment the ywca's family and community empowerment team builds a sustainable bridge between the community and organizations to support workforce development, provide and share resources, offer creative programming, increase entrepreneurship and promote generational economic advancement. Services within this program include:workforce development these services are extended to ywca clients, residents and members of communities the ywca serves. Participants in these programs also develop life skills and learn the art of reciprocal relationship building. Ywca's team takes a holistic approach to this organization wide work and welcomes partnerships with like-missioned organizations and individuals to help move women and families from all walks of life forward, regardless of their starting point. Compensated workforce development is a six-module program that teaches soft workforce skills to participants as they work toward sustainable job opportunities, educational advancement, entrepreneurship and economic and generational stability. The program personalizes workforce development and career coaching while, if applicable, assisting with personal expenses. Family resource center (frc) frc provides programming and meets needs through educational support, outreach, case management, career readiness training and life advancing programs for the entire family.
