Housing programs - the ywca houston offers dormitory style housing for chronic homeless women ages 18-24, pursuing a life of stability and independence. The ywca houston also offers another housing program that provided women ages 18-24 and their families with scattered sites housing, assisting with rental , utility deposits, and transportation.
Community enrichment - consists of two programs, the we360 entrepreneurship program and the summer stem camp program. Yshe can do business women's empowerment 360 (we360) is a national ywca women's empowerment program designed to put women and women of color entrepreneurs on the path to starting and maintaining successful businesses. We360 utilizes to ureeka program to help entrepreneurs with the creation of a new business. Our program offers virtual business development courses for women entrepreneurs 100% free on an on-line platform. Classes are self-paced and can be completed in as little as 6 weeks. Launching in 2021, ywca houston and linde partnered to bring stem programming to third ward after noticing a lack of stem-focused curriculum in the neighborhood schools. Our biggest goal with camp is exposure: giving students hands-on learning opportunities in various stem fields to expand horizons and pike interests that can lead to more. Unlike other stem camps, our program is free to all those who attend.
