The centerthe center is responsible for developing and implementing strategies and/or programs that address individual and systemic racism and gender inequity and directs the development and integration of the association's programs and initiatives around greater pittsburghrelated to gender, race and social issues. The center serves as the association's leader for advocacy and research efforts and develops and maintains the following: the association's systemic social change initiatives;updates and changes about issues related to race and gender equity;advocacy for the fair and equal treatment of all people; writtenposition statements that advance the mission of the association;internal and external partnerships and collaborations; comprehensiveresource information and access to this data on the association'swebsite; this year organizations, educational institutions,corporationsand government agencies have joined us as community partners to supportour efforts in eliminating racism and empowering women; the center forrace & gender equity conducted diversty, inclusion and justicepresentations and workshops.
Economic advancement programsthe ywca economic advancement programs strengthen connections between families, friends, and the organizations that provide services and support.the ywca economic advancement programs help remove barriers and disparities that hinder families from maintaining self-sufficiency by offering a safe and supportive space to connect women and families to financial assistance and other resources for: basic needs, transportation, legal services, housing, healthcare, financial services, and career, personal & professional development.
