Mission
The Youth Council for Positive Development (YCPD) was established in 1980 as a vehicle for the cultural enrichment and education for ages 4 -17 years. The YCPD began as the youth component of the Organization for Black Struggle (OBS). The mission is tp provide academic enrichment and positive socialization in a culturally sensitive and safe environment. The intent is to develop youth who are critical thinkers who will be engaged in the positive well-being of their community. Our programs are based on Ma'at Values and the Nguzo Saba Kwanzaa Principles.
