Youth Medical Mentorship Inc

Medical summits & internships (experience program)three medical conferences or summits were hosted in one calendar year impacting over 400 students and securing over 130 volunteers. Over 46 specialties were represented introducing students to mentors, health literacy, and changing their behavior for course selection tendacies and affinity to challenging health science courses such as chemsitry and physiology. One high school was also able to establish a medical internship for their students with the local hospital which provided shadowing hours in different hospital departments in exchange for high school course credits.

University-level professional student organizations (empower program)five university level student organizations called minority association of premedical students (maps) chapters were started or reinstated allowing for underrepresented students to have access to mentors, resources, shadowing opportunities, letters of recommedation, volunteering hours, and standardized testing preparation due to the involvement of ymm on university campuses across the state of oklahoma to mentor pre-health students.
