Programs

1 program

Programs are achieved through adapting the activities to serve the maturity, social, and cultural diversity among our participants. The ywca community engagement promotes community wellbeing by partnering with various agencies who organize activities for the community. The ywca main facility is available for meetings, training, and social gatherings. This year different agencies used our facility, serving more that 500 individuals. Our continue involvement in the community is reflected by the direct participation in various committees for example santa cruz county childcare planning council district 4 representative childhood; advisory council state funded programs consortium; first 5 impact consortium and collaborating with non-profit agencies in our community for example parr, softoptimists, girl inc., positive discipline, and some others. For a limited time, our yw- teen program was active and providing a support group to discuss and address their concerns and aids to budling and modeling positive relationships among participants. Our program structure is based on curricula that focuses on gender, culture women's reproductive health, healthy decisions making, self-advocacy, and mindfulness. The focus is to provide teens and young women with tools and skills to address risk behaviors, social pressures, and a range of expectations that are modeled in social media, cultural education, and community gaps amongst generations.
